... ice cave in the snow / glacier. It is a mountain cave. There are over 40km of caves within the system, but the first 1km is covered in ice due to a unique phenomenon. The cave is cooled by the freezing winds entering the caves in winter and the thaw water freezes as it trickles in, forming gigantic ice figures - 25 meters thick in parts. Getting there isn't easy. After breakfast I asked the reception staff for assistance with paying our parking ticket. She said you can just transfer them the money, so after working out how my bank handles international transfers I processed the payment, however the $22 fee didn't stop me the minimum transfer of $100 did. We ended up taking a pitstop at a town called GŁnsburg, which just happens to be the location of Legoland Deutschland, but we weren't here to build some blocks.After parking downtown, we walked through the narrow streets to the Marktplatz and sat down for lunch.
