La Isla Del Encanto

On Wednesday we rolled onto the narrow cobblestone streets of Old San Juan, the oldest settlement within the territory of the United States. Traffic was bustling on Calle del Sol, a street densely populated by brightly colored buildings, hanging balconies and beautiful sculptures. The city's historical monuments and architectural scenery had been richly influenced by the spicy European flair of Spain. Charm was to be ...

Rain Rain Go Away...

Our original game plan for today was to get some last minute time at the pool and beach before heading home. We had a late afternoon flight, so in theory this would have been a great plan...however the weather decided to not cooperate. The weather was awful and it rained the entire day! As we were stuck in the hotel we made use of the time by ...

... pouring down. This squelched plans of taking the airport bus, and even of walking down to the taxi stand at the bottom of the hill -- we called down and had them come pick us up at our doorstep. Little did we know that the weather would shape the rest of the day... and Travis will tell the rest of the story for once!

It turned out that taking the cab was really fortuitous, because, well, let’s just say that the Pepperpot from ...

Rich won a cash prize (several hundred bucks), a small trophy, and a decent golf shirt that says Casino Winner on the pocket. LOL!!! We thought that was our luck for the day, but there's more...... John was not doing well with blackjack and one of the pit bosses convinced him to try 3 card ...

Welcome to San Juan, PR! (Ice show pics included)

... Uncle Stu, JB, Mom, Dad, Aly, Jon, and I went and had a wonderful time! I really enjoyed it. Awesome! We later went to dinner at the main dining room (aka - Leonardo's). Starter: chilled golden delicious apple soup (kind of like a watery apple sauce, but still good). Entrée: Lamb with stewed veggies. Dessert: Piña Colada tart. Lord (the waiter) again fascinated us with tricks and witty games. I love this vacation!

You're philosophy, you know, what do I do, he asks two and three more times. He finally answers himself. You live on the streets. He tells me he's been living on the streets for three years. At this point, I think okay he's just buttered me up, he wants money. So I look at ...

... with a differing social identity, which Van Gijseghem interprets to be Proto-Nasca. These individuals were restricted to a different area of the site than the Paracas population, and they bore architecture of a lesser quality. Also, they lacked the incised polychrome Paracas wares, and instead possessed blackware bowls and an oxidized variant of the same class, which Van Gijseghem considers to belong to the Nasca 1 phase. Between the Ocucaje phase 8 and Nasca 1 wares ...
