Into Africa
Just a couple of days into South Africa. Our safari isn't until the end of our visit here but already we're doing well with wildlife. Here are some pictures showing some of what we have seen so far.
In addition we have EATEN: Warthog Ribs, Springbok Shank and Ostrich!
Feeding the turtles; spotting the frogs; playing
We went to the aquarium today and arrived just in time to see the lady in a wetsuit feeding the turtle. When two of the big fishes tried to get some of the food, she and a man nearby in the tank, pushed them away.
We went to the penguin area and this time spotted the frogs in the tank and also 2 very fat toads lying hidden amongst leaves in their tank.
I didn't like the sharks and the crabs with the very long legs, so we moved along ...

Hakuna Matata
... good hope. Was half day tour but the guide would go on to talk non-stop for the next five hours and sitting next to him I got the full brunt. My poor ears. We drove along the mountains on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other, stopping to take some pics. Got to the cape of good hope first the most southern westernly point of Africa before heading to cape point. Groot Constantia
... had fun looking at photos – mine, Abbies graduation and Calvins (?) matric dance – he and his partner had ridden in on a bicycle with gown hoisted up to the waist and blue balloons tied to the handlebars. It was a lovely time together. Neil, Annemarie and I went to walk the dogs – very pretty area. They were going to church and I was feeling "parched" so asked if I could go with.
