... flew among the huge trees until he alighted very close to us ! Then he flew a short distance and perched on electrical wires right above us and began to preen.
It was if he knew we were his long time admirers, and came to receive our admiring gaze and allow himself to be photographed once again!
He stayed there and we with him, until the San Jose Directo Bus noisily made its way down the steep hill from Cobano into Montezuma.

One day when we were here, there were some plantains near the barbeque pit and they put on quite a show coming down, trying to figure out how to pull the plantain loose and then climbing the tree to eat it as they watched us watching them. They also can cause trouble if food is left out and they get in the habit of coming to get food.
It is a neverending parade of wildlife here and this of course is one of the reasons this hostel is so special to us.
Things we have done:
We’ve hiked in Cabo Blanco National Park. We started off way too late and it was ridiculously hot and we didn’t see very much wildlife until the exit, when we saw a couple acrobatic coatis.
