... different food and whenever we bought anything at all it really made the sellers day.

NOT ONLY THE BEAUTIFUL GET PHOTOGRAPHED - Since we have been in Java, we have been photographed continually. No matter where we were this kept happening. One evening I was collecting our laundry and I came out of the shop to see Jim standing next to a young Indonesian couple being photographed. The usual practice was that people would approach you, have a brief conversation and then ask ...

Lastly there's the Warung museum which is the one Leah wanted to come here for, so that's where we head. The Warung museum is all about puppets. Mostly Indonesian but puppets from all over the world are on display. I know that with my experiences so far that I have been ...

... sure what to expect - modern architecture (ok finished in 1978) open plan, letting the air go through. I went in with lots of local school children and was taken aside by a local guide who got me to put my shoes aside and showed me up stairs to the first level. There was a huge floor with many people praying, women on one side and men in the middle. Very peaceful with the sound of someone chanting the Koran. In Java ...

... after coloured birds! We finally arrived at our friend, Doug's, apartment at close to 10 pm by which time he was convinced we were hopelessly lost. When we arrived at his place (Dan's articling buddy from many years ago), he was ready to party so he took us to Louie's in Jakarta for drinks and to meet some of his friends. Just what we wanted after 26 hours of travel. Finally, got home after midnight - early Saturday ...
