    On our way to Sidmouth we stopped Restormel Castle. We are definitely getting our monies worth from our English Heritage pass. With this pass (that we bought in Dover in June) you get free admission to all English Heritage sites and a discount (half price) in most other sites throughout England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.     Got flight on Skybus from Exeter International Airport to St. Mary's with Phil. Only 15 kg luggage allowance each plus a very small handbag measuring no more than 20 x 15 x 15 cm. needless to say we were both over the luggage allowance - 4kg excess each plus 4 kg for the shared NT laptop.     ... write in saying 'flippen eck, no pump, map so old it's in Latin, and now NO brakes....' In my defense I had the bike serviced a week before I left and said to the mechanic 'I'm off to John O Groats so change anything that needs changing within reason' I assumed such things as brakes fitted into the 'within reason' but there I go making assumptions again....

    Well, surely the brakes will last another 200 odd miles I thought to myself and off I went. ...
