... cold, wet and very windy. When we arrived in Sydney it was 30C. What a difference. We took at detour and drove over the Harbour Bridge and saw the Opera House for the first time. We then headed west and started climbing up towards Katoomba in the Blue Mountains. The higher we got, the more the temperature dropped. By the time we reached Katoomba it was 10C and very cold! It was also dark and threatening rain, so we couldn't really ...

... je me sens maintenant…

... car while Natalie and myself took the worlds steepest cable car to the top where we had lunch. After we had eaten we took the glass bottomed cable across to the other side of the valley where you can stand on the glass and look down below. We spent the afternoon relaxing in front of the fire with more red wine (well it was Saturday after all!). In the evening we had our christmas in July dinner at the metropole with crackers, turkey, mulled wine and a cheesy ...

... Dean
spotted Michelle in the shop paying, and beeped his horn. Michelle
noticed him and ran out and jumped in the car, just as it started to
rain.

We dropped the car off and headed for
the greyhound bus station. Having over 2 hours to wait we waddled to
Maccy D's to get out of the rain and to use the internet. We headed
back to the bus stop and boarded, it was to be a full bus on a 12
hour drive. We had been assigned ...

... on a huge valley/canyon. There are also lots of waterfalls and other interesting natural sites as well as a series of small, charming towns. After driving our brown beast out there (a minor miracle in itself), we went to this great lookout and got a great view of the Three Sisters and the valley below. It was pretty spectacular- probably better than it had been advertised. We made our way to a place called Scenic World, where we ...

Suitably watered and the rain having eased we stumbled back down the road for chips and some great noodles and then headed back to our accommodation, in bed by 10.30pm! Sunday 12 th October A marginal lie in and then we headed to Furbar Steps. 1000 steps carried us down through beautiful rain forest to the valley floor, taking in great views and huge ...

The Blue Mountains

... is a simple 2-hour train ride from Sydney so we set up camp in a hostel there.

Upon arrival we tossed our bags in the room and headed out to the Three Sisters, an outcropping of three limestone towers that has become the postcard for the entire region. The Blue Mountains got their name from the unusually blue haze that hangs across the massive valleys. The blue color comes from ...
