I've come here in search of my roots. All I have is the name of a person and the name of a town. I rent a car and go in search of my family. I am told that the person I am after is well known in the town so I just need to ask anyone and they will be able to point me in the right direction.

The night I arrive I prepare a couple of paragraphs in Romanian and review them with the woman at the hostel I have booked for the night. The first- to give to some towns ...

Omg! The Rock concert is on again tonight! The bass from the DJ actually shakes the floor in my hotel room. Went to the four UNESCO listed 16th century frescoes monasteries today. Drove thru some really charming villages with very interesting architecture but for whatever reason we could not stop for ...

... arrived in Suceava. The outside of the station was very pretty, but the inside was filled with dozens of homeless people sleeping on the chairs. I paid 1 Leu to use the restroom and was given four squares of toilet paper.

When I exited the station, there were many communist era apartment building and practically no cars on the road. Granted, it was only 6:30 AM. I walked to a local hotel to ask for information on buses or vans ...

    Malowane cerkwie Bukowiny

... do ruin Zamku Tronowego.
