It's 2am at home, but here it's 9am and we are already in Fish Hoek using wifi at Espresso coffee shop (where all the Americans go to get wifi). Sometimes it's tough to communicate with people back home because of the 7hour time difference, but that kind of helps give us an experience of being removed from our regular life. Yesterday morning we took a taxi and a train to Muzienberg and took surfing lessons for 2hours. The water was ...

The siesta was also a mistake as it took a while to wake all the Indians up and make them presentable. The upshot of this was we missed our one window of sunshine in the whole four days to go up Table Mountain. Oh well, we've done it before. ... I know they are just labels on the map, but the sight of the two current of the Indian and Pacific Ocean meeting is breath taking at Cape Point. And the overall atmosphere of The Cape of Good Hope, from the ocean breaking on the rocks to the wildlife along the side of the mountain as we climbed up. These pictures do no justice, but reflex on them, and if you ask be to describe it in person my only words will be "not even close". ...

... from a silly young Englishman who once sprayed deodorant on his armpit and then set fire to it on a dare. There was quite a fireball apparently and he couldn't put the flames out. He still has the scars. Hard to top that, really.

So tomorrow I am off to Cape Point which is not the southernmost point of Africa, but let's pretend it is because it's too hard for me to get to Agulhas Point.

Peace and good travels to you all
