We got up early and packed our cases, we were leaving Langebaan behind and heading to Stellenbosch. After a couple of nights enjoying wine country, from there we would leave for Cape to spend the remaining few days of our holiday. ... More creatures on the road made for an entertaining 'wacky races' style dash but we got there at 17:57.........
Dinner on the beach at Driftwood. Ridiculously cheap cocktails, really excellent grilled kingklip and the remnants of a glorious sunset over the ocean. The waitress asked us if we would take her back to the UK with us when we went home. ........we just ...
... Moving on to the next hide we had weavers and ducks and geese and grebes and harriers......phew! In amongst all this we also saw more tortoises, steenbok, duikers, ostriches, 2 enormous puff adders and a herd of eland and a mongoose. Exhausting!
We had dinner at Pearly's on the beach and watched the sunset with ridiculously cheap cocktails and exceptionally good grub.
What a fantastic day......and we get to do it all over again ...

We had a lovely drive up the coast and arrived at our hotel in Langebaan to find a spa voucher and a bottle of champagne waiting for me! All courtesy of Steph and Hayley - a lot of conspiring has occurred I suspect! Cheers ladies!!

DAY 19: 8 September
We discovered a bath last night and how did I enjoy the first bath in 18 days. I only like a bath when I am cold (thus in winter) and I have been cold many times – this made up for all the baths missed in my life!
