Murphy’s law again I tell you!




In and out of the markets and the few shops that were open and none had a USB stick nor a SIM card for that matter. Honestly – I don’t know why I bother to get out of bed some days.

... on the Gardens' grounds, but a dual set of fencing prevented us from going within 15 feet of the cages. However, from afar, we witnessed the country's national bird (also on the national flag), the Sisserou Parrot. The Sisserou is also known as the Imperial Amazon Parrot and is endangered - only found at high altitudes on Dominica in the north end of the island. They are beautiful, dark purple bodied large parrots with bright green wings, but only 250-350 of them exist in the wild. ...

We arrived here in Dominica yesterday late afternoon and what a sight it was!! The island was formed by volcanoes and has some ongoing activity under the surface in a number of places. The mountain's steep sides come straight down to the sea and are covered for the most part with trees. I took a tour around the island today and saw some beautiful waterfalls and boiling water pits. ... on my plate. He asked grilled or fried and took it in the back. The fish came out in silver foil cooked in butter, garlic, onion, and spices with plantain fries. Plantains are like bananas fro those of you who don’t know. The food was great, I got a whole fish (head and everything!) and was picking out bones the whole time but it was amazing.
