... war competition with a little girl trying to sell roses and later Kevin had to play rock paper scissors with her. It ended up with us having to buy a lot of roses.
The next morning started off with one of the best breakfasts that we had yet...really crispy bacon and wholewheat toast. We then started off on our week long shopping journey. Our plan in Bangkok was to send a box of stuff home so that we wouldn't really have to collect a bunch ...

In Bangkok we went to a ping pong show which involved unattractive thai women pulling razor blades from her bits and pieces and popping ping pongs to those men in the audience that were kindly given paddles to aim at buckets! An entertaining evening and not even remotely erotic!
The next couple of days we went to the Grand Palace which was so beautiful and peaceful. I can’t get over that you are right in the ...

It turned out to be a good decision not to make any more stops....the traffic in Bangkok was horrible. I think we were car-sick from 60 minutes of stop and go. We rested up for 1-2 hours before getting ready for dinner.
I had booked a table at Sirocco, a rooftop bar and restaurant. Sitting on the 63rd floor ...
... hostel for a literal raincheck before spending the afternoon taking a choppy but enjoyable boat trip on the River Chao Praya which gave us a decent idea of where many of the sights are along the front before heading back to base, getting showered and heading out to eat again.
I decided to be brave and try something new - Pork in a lemon sauce. I think I can be forgiven for assuming this would be a pleasant, fruity dish but it turned out to be a plate ...

... San Road, where alot of backpackers stay and alot of the pubs are, including the good old irish bar. It was too westernised for our liking and you get asked every 10 metres to go look in their shop. For some reason as soon as you mention your from england the reply is always "lovely jubbly".
Wearing t-shirt and trousers all day we were proper sweaty so once we got back we jumped in the pool for a relaxing swim, before having dinner in our room.

... It was incredible, and it has to be experienced. Nantaporn sprinkled water on our heads from a lotus flower. It's an important flower in Buddhism. We took pictures with some of the armed guards, who just had to stand there and couldn't talk or smile. The vendors in Bangkok are very persistent when they try to sell you things. We went shopping in a few different places but I only bought a new camera charger since I lost mine and a wallet. Everything is ...
Bangkok, Thailand alainetaylor... man to buy one of these dodgy package deals for the rest of our holiday. We were falling into the honey trap when i realised exactly what was happening and we got out pretty sharpish. We got back on the tuk tuk (with our nice driver who had 7cm long nails) and he discovered we had not made a deal so promptly took us to another agents as he gets 'free petrol coupons' if he does that ...
Bangkok, Thailand corkie... of those movies people come up with while high on acid and cheap Chinese take-out. It was seriously painful to watch.
Very early (around 5:30 AM) the bus made it to Chumporn. There we waited for some 20 minutes before being allowed to board the Lomprayah ferry. I would be another 2-3 hours before making it to Koh Tao.
At the pier on Koh Tao I was greeted by a Buddha View taxi driver. He was holding up a sign with my name and two others on it ...
