Essenwood Guest House Durban

... in Durban is limited. Despite almost constant rain, I've enjoyed walking around the city a bit and visiting several small museums.

Tomorrow I'm heading up into the northern Drakensberg mountains, where I hope the weather will be good enough to hike and ride horseback over the next couple of days.

... he did it with no problems. We started at the market again in Durban to do some shopping. Unfortunately we only had an hour and a half :( I did manage to go back to the Indian food place and get another bunny :)it was so good! Then we went to Ushaka world which was basically an African version of a small seaworld and a water park combined. I just did the sea world part which was pretty cool. We saw an aquarium and a dolphin show which was my favorite part ...

... so quickly and did not even watch any of the racing. To be honest i did not enjoy it as much as i thought i would as really is not like going racing the UK. If i am going to be brutally honest it is just not that civilized as racing in the UK. Crashed and burned that night, but i was very tired and emotional and did the usual **** music listening which Will and Matos will no doubt now is what i usually do!

... a traditional healer and sangoma, which was really interesting. Traditional medicine still plays a big role here in South Africa, and not just in the rural areas. In fact my next door neighbor in Cato Manor was a sangoma! Speaking of Cato Manor, we have officially moved out of our homes and are now back in Durban living in hostels until November when we will be doing independent research. Ok, that is all for now- hope everyone is doing well!

South Africa is really... white. Durban is dangerous at night and there
is a huge mall. They have blackouts every day for two hours at two in
the afternoon, and even the malls shut down.

... English club was just around corner. Sadly, the places were completely segregated as we were once again the only white people in the club. As some of you know, I love to dance.
