An early rise as today Paul's off to Oshkosh an 0830 flight not that that really mattered in the end as Alaskan airlines managed to delay his flight to such an extent that he was around 3 to 4 hours late arriving in Chicago This meant a VERY late arrival at Oshkosh (around 1045pm) but knowing Paul I am sure being there means everything. On to Washington and 1st stop Mt. St. Helens.

As I wrote in an earlier blog, our granddaughter was anxious to see a volcano and here was a big one.

We loved our time in Long Beach, but honestly, after a week we were ready to hit the road. Much of Long Beach reminded us of Nantucket, especially further out on the peninsula it really reminded us of Sconset. The farther out we went, the nicer it was. Many of the houses were so beautiful and you had water views on both sides of the road in certain areas.

The fog is something else in Long Beach. One hour ...

... But after lunch we did go for a drive up the mountain to see Mt St Helens. What an awesome thing to see. So much devastation still today after 24 years!!! We were back at base by 5:30/6ish, were we had a combined dinner with the Driegens of steak, potato and sides. Post dinner galah consisted of chatting, campfires, cribbage, and a freezing cold shower. I'm off to get some much needed sleep out in Seaquest! ...
