... we had seen sheep grazing on a bit of stubble and a bit of dirt along the side of the road so he was expecting a standard size shank. What he didn't expect, however, was a huuuge shank that may well have been lion rather than lamb. ... having lunch and playing some crib. Too soon Dick was there to pack us up to the airport for the first of our 3 flights home. Our first flight was late and as we had a very short layover in Johannesburg, was a bit worrisome but got there on time. The plane was pretty empty so we spread out and I slept from take-off to landing, missing the first of 5 airplane meals. The flight to AMS was 11 hours and left at 11:30 at night so after airline meal 2, slept pretty much to meal ...

We lucked out and went to the top of the mountain on the perfect day; not a cloud in the sky. We took a guided walking tour on top of the mountain and leaned about all of the unique flora and fauna that exists only in this small area of the world.
