... You cannot pump your own gas. A gas station attendant is a much valued job. And I've got to say it spoils you pretty quickly having someone gas up your car, wash all your windows, check your fluids and air. I remember gas stations in the U.S. doing this until I about 5 or 6. They all wear uniforms and the female attendants wear uniforms with skirts and hose even! Anything that creates a decent job for someone is done. That's one reason the beaches here are so clean. ...
