... was even more beautiful as the mountains were now visible and quite heavily snowcapped. It was cold and rainy in town last night so this made sense.

The boat took us about 10 minutes to arrive at the first part of the caves. We all instantly agreed that the trouble to get here was so worth it. They were so amazing! The water (although cloudy in other parts of the lake) was turquoise blue and green and so so clear. The caves themselves were amazing. Calved ...

We set out from Bertrand and find the 'highway' south to Cochrane is in even worse shape than what we have experienced so far.  More washboard, more potholes, more hills.  That is, until we are about 15kms out of town.  Road construction.  The Carretera Austral is being widened, sharp curves taken out, steep hills flattened.  Further down the road, ...

... 6pm to Chile Chico and that they would try to book us tickets. We had breakfast and were told to check out of the cabana by 11 am. We thought we would be hanging around the cabanas until 6 pm to then catch the bus. A long wait, but hey what can you do when in the middle of nowhere. We packed our stuff and took it across to the communal area where we were told to put our stuff in one of the vans, a bit odd but we did it. We then paid up and ...

... took about 30 mins and cost 16000 CLP. The airport is relatively new and modern. Check in with Sky airlines was easy and luckily we were not over our weight limit. There is not much to see and do in the airport and the catering areas were busy and looked expensive, good job we bought our own sandwiches! The flight was only 10 mins late and it was a bigger plane than expected, we were served an unappetising cheese and ham sandwich and drink, surprising really as it was ...
