Had a good flight, good landing, fast through passport control, luggage arrived quickly, met with car by Emma's parents, got down to Southampton quickly in time for 9am ferry - it's Cowes week so ferries are very busy - told to wait until 11am! No joy in persuading otherwise. Oh the joy of living on on Island - western Kenya to Southampton no delays - Southampton to Isle of Wight....... Anyway eventually they must have taken pity on us and we got on 10am - thank you Red Funnel! Happy ...

We drove then to stay out in the country for the night, lovely hotel.. watched rabbits on the lawn while we had dinner, (sun still shining brightly). A bit different to watching kangaroos in Aus!!

We stood in the sideways rain contemplating this rare opportunity to walk where ancients walked, to share the views and area from their perspectives....and then we went back to the car to drive it. Let's be honest - if the ancient celtic pagans who dragged these stones around could have used a car instead, they would have. They didn't walk it to commune with nature - they walked because they didn't have Avis to rent from.
