... hotel but no - we tried to keep awake for as long as we could so we traipsed off to the Trevi Fountain but shock horror - it's under repair and has been for over a year. No water but tourists are still throwing coins in. We also got to see the Basilica Michaelangela built. It's a mess on the outside but awesome on the inside. We dined alfresco and guess what we had - pizza and fettucine chicken of course!

That's it - off to bed.

... on my toes. Instantaneous bruising and much much pain. This was also very very frustrating because I may not be able to wear my runners tomorrow and we have a whole day of walking scheduled! I've put on mums amazing all healing cream but we will just have to see how I go. Walking to dinner was slow and painful...if you are curious, I gave up on the dress and stuck with jeans in the end. ... it would) and as recommended we caught the monorail into Venice, then walked for about 5-10 mins to get to the train station. The only real "fun" part was dragging the bags over one of the canal bridges. The steps were quite small to get up, but balancing everything AND trying to ignore/fight off the multitudes of "willing assistant porters" was certainly interesting. They were literally trying to take the bags out of your hands ...
