This place was by far one of my favorites on the trip. The supermarkets are a great spot to get some good food at reasonable prices - take to a park and enjoy! They sell individual containers of fruit salad, green salads, sandwiches, etc. and you can also buy from the bakery and deli. It sure beats paying through the nose for sub standard food at some restaurants in the tourist ...

... the first part. Further away from town the road is much less traveled by cars and much easier to walk...aside from the uneven cobblestones! Much of the road has been redone - some with "normal" asphalt, some with new cobblestone, but some of the road is still the original stones! We saw some cool things along the road and visited the Catacombs of St. Sebastian, where the remains of Saints Peter and Paul were temporarily kept in the 2nd Century... ...

Today was our first full day in Rome, and boy, was it a wet one!! We were able to get a decent night's sleep, even though the jet lag makes it tough to really sleep well. Also, I think I had a lack of wine last night (although we had some real good stuff)....
