... under repair) the Pantheon and a drive by the Spanish steps and Colosseum. Constantine did a great job of navigating through some pretty bad traffic due to the rain. Overall, the weather has been great except that I am ALWAYS too hot. Shocker, I know.

I am excited to see Paolo tomorrow. I need to play my recordings in my ears while I sleep so Marialuisa will be proud of me. Buono Sera!!!!!

... town seemed so old with stone bricks in the walls and towers of stone.

Today we went from San Gimignano to Rome. We spent nearly two hours in the Colosseum. It is about twice the size of the Florence Duomo (colossal), and you could see into the underground chambers where they did behind the scenes stuff with animals etc. it is about five stories high but it is hard to tell because it is broken away at most places. ... as long as we wanted before making our way back towards the hotel.

We found yet another nice little restaurant with rocking tables on the cobblestones and both enjoyed beautiful salads (I am on a diet after all). It's no wonder the pizzas and pasta taste so great over here - the tomatoes are awesome!

By the time we were back at the hotel we were ready for bed. It had been a massive day. It's lucky we are used to doing a lot of walking.
Tomorrow we get to sit down and relax.
