Back to Brussels (Day Fourteen)
After a good night's sleep in my private room, I woke up, checked out, and walked back to the train station. I'm glad I went to Brugge; it was nice to visit a small town after London and Paris. I bought a ticket to Brussels for 7.50€ at the counter and spent the short train ride writing in my journal. I arrived just before one in the afternoon at Brussels North Station. Belgium also has a Flemish half where everyone speaks a dialect of Dutch, and there's no love lost between each side.
We toured "Chocolate Square" where all of the ...

Maastricht is expensive and posh for a student town, but the center was filled with people and lively holiday atmosphere. Its bars are cozy and we tried some excellent Dutch and Belgian beers. On the first night, we went to a hookah bar and got approached by some guys trying to intimidate us because I'd taken a photo of the establishment with them in the distant background. "You take picture of us? We saw the flash". I showed them the photo, in which they were visible ...
