We stopped at the local grocery to pick up bread, meat, cheese, fruit, cookies and soda, then rented bikes for the afternoon. Took a ride through some back streets away from the tourist crowd--absolutely charming architecture every way you turn! Ended up at the NE section of the outer canal which used to be the moat for the city. Enjoyed our picnic in a beautiful park before continuing our ride. Later we climbed the 366 steps up the bell tower ...

I arrived at about 9am and you guessed it, it was raining and raining and raining! Now on top of that it was windy so umbrella = useless, by the end of the day I was SOAKED to the bone! But Brugge is a beautiful and very romantic town, so I recommend it with a loved one but ...

... of gin. I normally hate gin but this stuff is like crack. It's so good even Mom likes it. She drank a whole glass and took a shot of it! I've never seen my mom take a shot of anything. It comes in flavors like berry, passionfruit, lemon, etc. Yum! Kim and I bought a bottle for the road. It was obviously a good decision. For dinner I had this biscuit that was smothered in chicken and a kind of gravy. It was sooooo yummy. Traditional Belgian food isn't so bad after all. ...
