Our apartment was overlooking one of the canals and we were always hanging out the window enjoying the view. We had a large 3 bedroom so we had plenty of room for everyone and most importantly for Mike to cook for us. We were also close to the oldest pub in Belgium which has been trading for 500 years. He is waiting for the return of over 50,000 soldiers who have no grave (they are not those whose headstones say "Known only to God"; rather, they are 50,000 people whose bodies were never recovered). ... the smelly fish market where the suspenseful chase took place and also walk in the park where Colin Farrel sat on the bench. The tour guides are brilliant and you will get a chance to meet people from all over the world who are also enjoying beautiful Brugge. The canal tour is also a must do while in Brugge. The boat winds around the canals and you get a guide narrating the history for the entire tour.
