    ... wide in places, and the canyon walls about 30 feet high. Of course you're swimming against the current, and there is no way to climb out. You reach the first waterfall which you can scale after a few slippery attempts. You go through a room to another taller falls but you can't go above that without ropes. ...

    ... is Flight Mode. Great. Laptop is 12 months old and stuffed.

    Gabriela said if I get a USB port (can you believe it, it is the only time I have left home without one ???), then she's let me download my text and photos onto the stick and then upload them from a computer in the Internet Cafe. Shame I can't do that in my PJs sitting up in bed !!

    ... way down mountainsides are jaw-dropping, as you can see the glistening Caribbean Sea at every turn, with the bustling city of Roseau tucked into a protected bay. Our first destination would take us through Roseau and past it, up into the Roseau Valley to the Freshwater Lake. Yep, it is Freshwater, and it is formed in the caldera of an old volcano. In fact, the volcano blew its top much like Mt. St. Helens in 1980, and then a new cinder cone formed in the middle, leaving a "moat" ...

    ... since I am writing this blog, I obviously managed and survived without any ill effects.

    The boiling lake is a three mile hike that starts with a steady climb up through a most amazing rainforest. It consists of three phases, a slog up through the rainforest, a contour walk along the top of the mountains, and then a descent into the Valley of Desolation and the caldera.
