... Patrick Hamilton is always watching over the Uni. Oh, and I almost forgot the superstition! Students who are attending St. Andrews University do not walk or step on the bricks that make out Patrick Hamilton's initials for fear of failing their exams and not graduating from the school. Just as Calum had finished telling us this story, an Americal gal (who must have just graduated) came upon the brick initials and I overheard her say to her friend, ...

... pitched his tent. Amongst many other important topics. Off he went, with his full pack, and some while later, towards the BOTTOM of the gorge, we met him coming UP again, still with the pack. (The gorge is about a kilometre of quite a stiff climb, I certainly couldn't have done it twice in a day if my life had depended on it.) This time it was, "You know those shoes they call mules, well I won't take my pack off to show you, but I had a pair made of polystyrene and ...

... around Edinburgh castle, which was well worth the visit! The cobbled narrow streets of the old town, perfectly restored buildings churches and castles, the funky bars and clubs and gift shops, Edinburgh was a winner!! All in all, we had an absolutely wonderful trip to ireland and scotland and we are very grateful for being able to spend a week with family. It was pretty special and something we won't forget!! Lots of laughs, smiles, beers and fun times. Thanks Sue and ...
