... spread cooking oil on ourselves.

To say sleep was fractured would be an understatement. I remember Liza begging me for Valium at about 3am and me refusing while thinking "it's morphine we need, not Valium". And I was right. But it is what it is. We put ourselves in that mess, whining gets you nowhere. We could but suffer the consequences. So suffer is what we did.

This didn't exactly leave me looking forward with joy to the next day. ...

Kota Bahru to Kuala Tahan via Jerantut-Day 59

A travel blog entry by eiry on Sep 12, 2014

We woke up 6.30am so that we catch a bus from the local bus station to the long distance bus station. We were hoping that we could find a bus going to Jerantut. ... local or Western and off we go. Its only maybe a 2 minute drive until we get to a huge supermarket and shopping complex with outside food stalls and an indoor food court, out we jump and let him know we'll walk back even though he offered to come back and get us. As lunch had been a tube of Pringles we were starving and wanted curry, there was a really popular looking place in the food court in the supermarket. A bit of a shame we could understand anything other ...

... in the clear waters and chat about our DSD. Following which we shower and decide to go to Coral Bay to try a restaurant called Evans. It's very basic and I think I have spaghetti but its cheap and cheerful! Walking there in the dark we spot lots of Bats and I'm fearful of whatever else is going to pop out of the jungle. Returning we again avoid a party and have a drink before heading to bed in our stuffy hot room, where even a fan can't help ...
