Il y avait beaucoup d’animaux dans la rue, dont les habituels chiens de rue, mais aussi des chèvres, vaches (sacrées bien-sûr), et parfois des cochons, ces derniers plus souvent autour des tas d’ordures. Comme c’était la saison des pluies, il faisait chaud et il pleuvait plusieurs fois par jour laissant les rues très boueuses, pas terrible ...

... Burma konsulatet med ferdig utfylt skjema og håp om at dette skulle gå fort (siden taxi mannen igjen sto og ventet på meg) kom jeg til kassa, fortsatt ingen folk der.... Og med det veldig enkle søknadsskjema tenkte jeg at dette var en enkel sak. men dæven så nøye de gikk igjennom de få tingene... og siden vi begge er kokker måtte jeg skrive et ekstra brev ved siden av søknadene hvor jeg lovet på tro og ære at vi bare skulle være turister og ikke jobbe som kokker... helst skulle jeg ...
A Holi-day on Holiday
... made our way north into the BBD Bagh area. Our first stop was the Ranji cricket Stadium. To our suprise We were allowed to just walk in and watch what we assumed was the Calcutta cricket team in full practice. Deciding to make the most of the shade and free entertainment, we took a very welcome break. Just around the back of the grounds are the Eden Gardens.
