Watching
everyone set up the night food market made me very hungry so we went back to
get Nick and set off for dinner, finally choosing a place where we I had
vegetarian cuscus, shrimp and olives. While we were eating dinner a monkey
escaped from his owner and there was a big hullabalou as the monkey ducked
under stalls and ran, his owner chasing after him. Just as the owner caught him
another monkey on a lead jumped onto ...
From the fun flats of Marrakech...we made our way to the High Atlas mountains for well...mountains of magnificent hiking and views.
Jebel Toubkal stands at 4200m above sea level and at that is the highest most point in northern Africa and also a bit of a mission! We made it up the mighty mountain in a few days and did some sleeping, sun burning and Scrabble in there as well. An absolutely incredible adventure!
Back down and all set to embark on a road trip to Fez!

... of it is: I got sick. Dehydration leading to nausea leading to we’re home by 2:30 to get into that cold pool. Susan had flashbacks of intravenous bags. On the countryside: there are more donkeys that vehicles; the poverty is grinding; the people are just as friendly. I haggled twice: once unsuccessfully for three necklaces and once successfully for a fossil. On that, the starting bid was 800 Durhams (about $110Cdn); I ...
Marrakesh, Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz, Morocco thedicksons... originates in Palestine. So here I am, and sometimes I do wonder if I stepped on board a Boeing 737 to get here, or was it really a time machine. Luckily, every few minutes you get almost run over by a motorcycle in those narrow winding streets, so the time machine is kind of out of the question, but then you walk a little further, take a side lane into some spooky neighbourhood and start to wonder again. There ...

... see Rick's Cafe you know. (For all you youngsters out there Rick's Cafe is from the movie Casablanca starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. Oh good grief, go ask your parents.) Anyway, Casablanca also has the only mosque in the world that non-muslims can get into and we really wanted to see it. We were told by more than one person not to spend the night in Casablanca. They said it was not the safest place to be. It is much ...
