... front of the building....see picture! We woke up early the next morning so we could get out of the guest house ASAP and got on a train to Bentota. Our advice to anyone travelling through Sri Lanka....skip Mount Lavinia. Although our first few experiences of Sri Lanka weren't great we knew it would get better. We'd heard great things about the country and it felt very similar to India and generally people seemed very friendly and ...

Day 150 - Train to Colombo

... in Petturah district, which is full of markets. I replaced my sunglasses that I lost the day before and Kim replaced her flip flops that were falling apart. I think we probably both over payed slightly, but its hard to motivate yourself to argue over a few pence. We have had such a hectic year so far and cant be bothered with it all today. Changed our plans to head to the beach instead of inland to Kandy as we need to come back to the hospital for Jo's tooth to be sorted out on Monday. Means we can escape the city and relax for a ...

Last days of Sri Lanka

... as a train flew past, but nothing to worry about. That night the 'resort' we were staying at seemed to get a bit rowdy, or maybe that was just us, but probably the most odd gathering of individuals in our life put together for a party. Anyway, Mount Lavinia.....looks better in photos.
To end the trip we had a 9hr wait at Colombo airport- I'm surprised we are still friends, but we made it, even endured 6 hours at Changi today. Sad ...
