On our way to Venice we stopped in Verona, the place where Romeo and Juliet is set. We saw Juliet's balcony, toured a bit of the town and had some free time. ... The main reason we went was to see all the display details and interior design that was done by Carlo Scarpa. Although I can't complain at all about Verona I do have to rank it my #6th favorite city out of 6. After sketching at the museum, we got back on the bus and drove to Vicenza.

... all feels a bit grotty to me. Maybe I am not romantic enough. But we get the obligatory picture of the balcony, we can say we have seen it so we move on.

We decide to have dinner at the Cafe della Fogge. It's not too bad but Dianne is stunned to find tinned mushroom on her pizza.In Italy of all places! Not impressed. It fails to blacken a great day we have really enjoyed as we catch the 13 bus back to our accommodation, arriving about 8:30.

... chats and lunch brought us back in 'ready to hitchhike further' shape. This time we did not have to wait long as we realized we were already on the way to Sud. Italian boy who did not speak English drove us through oh so beautiful valleys and countryside.
