Old dogs, new tricks ... The weather was threatening on the day we were to see our first opera with our friend Margery who had talked us into going. In fact, at about 5pm, a huge storm ('tempo molto bruto') hit Verona and the prospects didn't seem bright that it would start at all. ... but I was glad to be onshore, not drowned or wet. As we drove home we saw a sunk boat...we felt relieved it was not us!
It was a great day but such a shame about the weather... Storms were all around us when we got home and I'm afraid as we head off to Slovenia tomorrow it looks wet. Is this getting us used to the UK we have not seen inconvenient rain since Istanbul in early May.
