Chinese people are often very shy, and they will not greet you until they really have to, so it took about 20 minutes for them to ask me if I wanted to have a photo with them. But after that they were very friendly, for the rest of the 30 minute boat cruise. Because what I thought was a half day cruise turned out to be a 45min cruise around a curve ...

... and then leave the tourist with the bill after ordering drinks, food and almost a "pre-ordered" tab. I said that after I was done eating I would be happy to chat for a bit, which they agreed would be fine. It was a good conversation, and I took off before they had a chance to finish their coffees. I wandered the shops and market for a bit, when I heard water running. I made my way over to a bridge, which overlooked a small waterfall, river, mountains ...

... itself, although a complete tourist trap, was relaxing and surrounded by natural beauty. In fact look up the scenery in Yangshuo on google, it's described as karst although I don't know what that means, it sounds like the phonetic way a southerner would spell cast. When you see the pictures you'll most likely be very impressed, for me it was one of the most unique backdrops I've seen. It's incomparable surroundings make the town itself ...
