    ... br> Just as she had described, I took an escalator up from track level, went right to Terminal 1 and then followed the signs. It was nice to see an an actual person at the check-in counter, rather than just a Kiosk which was the case at CDG (Paris) last year.

    There was a sizeable queue at security, but I went to a line at the back that wasn’t nearly as crowded and I was through in about 10 minutes. I had a bit of a scare when I came out of security ...

    Unfortunately my trip to the U.S. wasn't as easy or pleasant as in past years. My misadventures began with arrival at the airport in Kelowna, only to find that my flight was cancelled due to heavy fog. They were able to book me on the next flight, but that involved having to exit the departure area and go through security again, something which I felt was totally unnecessary.
