The next morning Shane went into work and we got up late. After lunch Shane took us up to a part of his old farm where he still owned a game reserve. About 2000 acres set aside solely for animals. This used to be a good business as hunters would pay large amounts of money to go on hunting camps. Now lots of the game had been poached, the fence has been pulled down and stolen.
Day 1 at the falls
We had breakfast at the Ilala Hotel. A beautifully thatched building, very colonial and offering a huge variety of breakfast. After breakfast we went on a Helicopter ride over the waterfall. The helicopter was a 4 man plus pilot, quite small. We had to be weighed and and positioned in the helicopter accordingly.
