At this point we are still in denial about the damage, so when we get to another impromptu stop at the Japanese Buddhist memorial Buddha statue to appreciate it's beautifully detailed carving and serene surroundings, Anita attempts to take a few pics - aaaargh, alas not even buddha's likeness and restorative powers can bring Anita's baby back to life!
