Byron Bay Day 2

A travel blog entry by kas19 on Jan 13, 2015

... to walk up the beach with that current. It was another epic beach day! At the end of the day we made the quick walk home. After showering off the sunscreen and sand Ryan and Mark started to realize despite the overcast sky and multiple sunscreen applications spending the entire day on the water had left them with lobster red burns. It has more kitchen utensils than we had in our flat and luckily has an axe in case we get flagged down by any trucks. Once on the road and obviously stuck in Sydney traffic, we got onto the most important job of naming our travelling companion. After a few suggestions we thought the most appropriate name was Bruce. Bruce did ...

... our road trip was Byrons Bay. The welcome sign "Cheer Up, Slow Down, Chill Out" greeted us, giving us our first glimpse into the vibe of this small town. It was a hippie town alright, with shops with names such as 'The Happy Herb Shop' and shops selling items such as surfboards, tie-die t-shirts, peace slogans on anything from keyrings to car registration plates etc. There were buskers on pretty much every corner with signs saying what they ...
