... fade away somewhere briefly for about 20 mins, before they turned the lights on 2 hours before landing at 5am, for some unknown reason. Thus ending the chance for any more rest. As I hadn’t slept properly for two nights, I hadn’t recovered from the hangover yet and I actually felt even worse by now, and extremely tired.

I decided to head straight down to Byron Bay from Brisbane where I landed as some friends had recommended it, but by the time the ...

... types who probably wouldn't have a clue had we not been told and this caused some excitement as you can imagine. I don't know what type of shark it was - not a great white or anything that exciting - but still a good 6/7ft long. It swam around for a while - the surfers oblivious of course - and then soon buggered off. Would have been cool to see a shark attack but alas it was not to be - ah well!
I continued along away from Main Beach to find a ...

... t any different in the end to most clubs I’ve been to; there was a lot of drink, and the same repetitive playlist that I hear everywhere in Australia.

Byron Bay is so named after John Byron, a man who had circumnavigated the world and was the grandfather of the poet Lord Byron, a personal friend of my ancestor, Edward John Trelawny, who was an adventurer and author.

... through the valley, which took up most of our day. That night we had a good old fashioned Ozzie BBQ and went to bed early. The next morning we were delighted to find more rain pattering on our little tents (it was a good test for waterproofness), we decided to go for a drive along the 'most scenic road of the Blue Mountains', unfortunately this view was obstructed by a large wall of mist...we went to the Botanic Gardens though which was great and luckily rain free all through our ...

Surfer town...forget surfers paradise, this is the place. I've never seen so many dreadlocks, its fabulous. I went into the supermarket and 50% of customers were not wearing shoes...now thats a stat i can get on board with, i hate wearing shoes. We're staying at the Arts Factory, something straight out the 70's with the ultimate hippy vibe. The usual facilities alongside tepee dorms, organic food cafes and a long list of activities you could never hope to find in the conventional ...
