... as a 1.3 mile walk with 2 heavy bags was not ideal! I was pretty exhausted and hot by the time I arrived at the hostel so was happy to find the place was equipped with free wifi and a huge TV room with movies playing from 7am-10pm. I decided to make myself comfortable and settled in for the night. Although I was only in surfers paradise overnight I knew I'd have time in the morning to explore before my bus to Byron. ... which was a few hours from Sydney. It was a bit of a mission finding a campsite but after finding some free wifi in the city, we realised we had to back on ourselves to one of the only sites in the area. This was a really nice site with top facilities and right on the beach. We arrived just in time for sunset so enjoyed a glass of our finest $5 red wine to soak up the beautiful sights before spending our last night in the van! We will never tire of a beautiful sunset on the beach, thats for ...

We arrived ...

Got up early to catch the bus to Byron Bay via Brisbane. Turned out to be the same bus that took us to the zoo the previous day. 3 hours to Brisbane, an hours wait in the coach terminal and then 3 hours to Byron getting us in around 4pm and unfortunately into the rain! We got the shuttle to the hostel and checked in. On heading out to look around the hostel we met 2 Danish guys and ended up chatting to them for a few hours. ...

... some brave surfers took the challenge. With beautiful weather how could we not enjoy the lighthouse walk one final time. After a pleasant stroll we treated ourselves to an Aussie ice cream. We had a fantastic view of the sun setting before us. It was awesome! We headed back to the apartment to pack then caught a taxi to the greyhound terminal. What a day! How it all turned round! God had a plan! Tonight we take the greyhound to Sydney. Only a 13 hour journey ahead of us. Simple as can ...
