Plane delayed until 13.30 so our plans for walking to Navarette were in jeopardy early on. Arrived in Santander 4pm Drama collecting car over credit cards and drivers licences but sorted in the end. Eugene drove. Very fraught for the first hour or so but eventually all calmed down! Arrived Logrono 7.30 eventually found where to leave car (after a few U turns and some shouting). Headed off on ...

    Santander Spain-to biert France

After first day of riding which I would rather forget - summary is less that 300 km total riding, small roads full of trucks driving, really close to each other, a huge electric storm with forked lightning, driving rain resulting in an early close to the days proceedings. ... on the way through. We arrived in Liencres on a busy Saturday due to a surf competition and the surf was the best we have seen in days. We stayed for 2 days in the car park, again with the rest of the van clan and with plenty of surf spots to choose from both Dean and I got in a few surfs each, Dean more so than me. We watched the surf competition, marvelled at European parking, went for bike rides and enjoyed the ...

... The building are all quite charming, with attractive window boxes of flowers. Most of this part of Spain is not on the foreign tourists places to visit, there are lots of Spanish tourists and not many people speak English which certainly adds to the challenge. As we don't have Leon with his Spanish-English app any more we have resorted to a small phrase book and Clive is practising his th sounds! The main tourist attraction in Santillana is the ...
