... a wreck! The best wreck dive I have done so far and my first true deco dive being that we were down for a total of 34 minutes with an average depth of 64 feet. For the second dive we relocate the dive boat to the bow of the Spiegel and descend, this time to 94 feet where there are a lot of passages which we can swim in and out of. All too soon the dive was over (56 min total) and ...

Also the emergency exit was in the roof! I had images of a little old lady trying to climb out the roof if there was a fire by the door, but i think i was tired at this point and needed sleep!
Key West was exciting and beautiful. I would describe it was a perfect place for a stag do as lots of water sports/fun things to do by day and loads of lively bars at night.
... plenty of pictures to prove it. We ended up hanging out with Cory after the cruise at a few different bars. We all had quite a bit to drink, and didn't have to pay for any of it. It definitely paid to hang out with him for the night. All and All we had a GREAT day!
Today we got to sleep in enjoy some breakfast before we left the beautiful keys. It was a sad day! We would all go back there any day of the week.
Till next time,

06/10/2009 - Woke up in the morning to a lovely free breakfast by the pool of the hotel with relaxing music playing in the background, beautiful. Jim headed up to the harbour after breakfast to try and find a spare place on a boat to go fishing, but no joy. The boats that were going out were all booked and the next trips wouldn't be until Thursday when we would be in Chicago! Jim was gutted he didn't get the chance to go deep sea fishing ...
Key West, Florida, United States jimandlaura... we were soooo gutted. We never to got find out what it was on the end of the line, but speaking to Fred the next morning, he reckoned it was probably a barracuda or maybe a black-tip shark (!) as they are known to come in to shore at night.
05/10/2009 - I had been looking forward to this day for a while! About 20 miles south of Islamorada on Grassy Key, there is a Dolphin Research Centre, where you can swim with dolphins in the Gulf of Mexico sea. Jim had booked a ...

I’m pretty amazed about my German friends, they just mind to go to supposed to be “surfers shops”, I mean “supposed to” because those shops are obviously just fashion places where surfers where probably going 30 years ago but not anymore…they don’t even sell surf boards…whatever, A/C is a good reason to get in. I turn around the shop and start waiting for those guys, where are they ...
... and bought tape for the camcorder instead. No videos or pics today folks. We were too buzy (aka lazy) to take any. Maybe tomorrow. If you're lucky. Now we're just sittin here in home base rawkin the apple computer. When I looked out at the horizon just now, Kev asked me to tell him in one word to describe what I thought of this new and foreign land. I could only reply- "Wonder". (not wondeful, because I prefer nouns over adjectives). Peace--don't have too much fun while we're out. Meg
Key West, Florida, United States megkev... whom it has been home for generations. Many trace their heritage to Cuba, just 90 miles away, through forefathers who arrived in the late 1800s to work in the cigar industry; others to the Bahamas, where families, both black and white, crisscrossed the Gulf Stream to trade and work the wrecking trade. The harbor continues to give the island life, bustling with water activities for visitors to enjoy. Gleaming cruise ships line docks instead of tall masted trading ...
