Our first few stops (seemingly every 30min...then hourly) seemed to be a waste and we didn't see the point...until the path and Forrest 'steps' became rather steep. Then we relished the stops. At each stop, or 'Pos' (position 1 etc..) there was at least one simple platform, with a roof which us .'guests' were encouraged to sit on. The porters it seems would gather off to the side or get busy with water ...

we found a nice restaurant nearby that served fresh strawberry juice and had quite reasonable prices. Well, it's Bali and the prices are high due to the crowds of Australians so not really our budget friendly but we still managed to go by and enjoy ourselves.
