From Tillamook we had an hour and a half drive to Portland. We eventually made it to the airport after our navman took us around in circles to drop off the car. From there we made our way into the city via the Lightrail train system.

... us on an overnight train to Ngaondere on Saturday night, where we will stay for the first week to work with their organization. This will be a unique experience staying with a host family. Sophie and I will be sharing a room with a large bed and Josh will have a separate room. We will have access to a separate shower and bathroom. I'm looking forward to this experience!

... locks were removed when bonneville dam was built and now nothing there. Went across Bridge of the Gods, into Washington, turned tound and drove back. Bridge is very high and quite cool - made of metal 'sheets' of lots of hexagons which means you can see through what you are driving on - all the way to the river below!
