... we eventually arrived back at the hostel hot and tired... and the hostel didn't have aircon waaaa.

The tour of Bokor Mountain which looks over the southern coastline was good but we were expecting a bit more from it. The drive up from the bottom to the top was beautiful and the views from the top were incredible. The abandoned French Colonial buildings were underwhelming with lots of graffiti and there was a maaaasive Casino resort near the old ...

Sleepy Kampot

Kampot was a sleepy little town with not a lot to do apart from walking around and chilling in the restaurants and cafés. It felt a lot more traditional and less touristy which was nice. One day we hired bikes and explored the town and beyond. We came across a little temple which was set off the road besides the river. Happy to be on land again, we checked for availability at a couple of the nicer guest houses with no luck... We ended up at some cheaply place that was fine for 1 nt. Kellie battled some more sickness and then got some serious rest while I went out for rice and bread (good for the stomache). We slept ok that nt and the next day Kellie was feeling a bit better. We did laundry and checked out. Then we had 7 hrs to wait for our overnt bus. We spent the majority at a guesthouse ...

Where to start?! Yesterday was a bit of a crazy day. Alex and I woke up bright and early at 7 to be ready for our 8.30 tour of Kampot and Kep. We sat downstairs for a relaxing breaky (I could only manage a baguette and Nutella as I still wasn't feeling 100%) with plenty of time before our tour. However a very rare event occurred. The "tour guide" was early! The whole month we have been in Cambodia not once has anyone been on time let alone early. So we rushed ...

Bleary Eyed Bus Hopping

A travel blog entry by laurenw_is on Feb 06, 2014

... one of them was cheeky enough to hold out her hand while Sean was eating some snacks. He eye-balled them levelly while finishing the snacks.

We made it to the island, but had to get to the other side. Lauren was expecting a 20k – 30k local bus ticket and we were faced with an implacable local insisting on 100k ticket. Eventually we followed the locals and ended up on a large bus and paid the more moderate amount. Watching the GPS allowed us ...
