... laying next to me in our not so double bed bewildered by our midnight ramblings. We got the cable car over to Lantau island and Ngong ping village to see the big Buddha. The cable over gave us spectacular views of what we assume to be mainland china. ... caught the double decker bus into Central which was a great trip winding around the mountain even though there was a fair bit of traffic. You get a good view of everything on the top level of the bus. We went to a lovely leather bag shop in Central and the four of us all came out with something. Leanne said her goodbyes and headed off home while Joc, Karry and I walked up two streets that are lined with stalls selling all sorts of things. ...

In Defense of the U.S. (for once)

... Pretty much like all the clothes you're wearing right now, they're produced in China. The government could easily put a stop to it, but it doesn't--because American culture sells. The government recognizes that its people can simultaneously be proud of its heritage yet enjoy another's culture--kind of like Americans do with dozens of cultures (the same extreme left-wingers who say Americans culturally invade other nations love when the U.S. allows other cultures ...
