    Greatly Satisfactory

We stayed in this hotel in November 2010 for 4 days & 3 nights. The double story rooms were simple great, the hotel extremely clean and being at a central location where amenities are around you with Tesco just beside the hotel. For late night snacks, there is a KFC & Pizza Hut, 2 minutes away. Breakfast was average but overall the hotel is very good. I would strongly recommend this hotel. Only setback is that the staffs do not speak english.

    My First Day in Beijing!

Despite my worries about the super hard bed and time difference, I managed to only wake up at 1am, 2am, and then 6:40am (which is when I gave up going back to sleep). I redid some organization and read through my orientation packet. I also called the front desk with hopes of an effective conversation but it went something like this: "Nihao", ...

    A Peek at Peking

After a mad dash to reach Xi'an station in time for our train, Sukriti and I found ourselves pleasantly surprised at the clean and spacious carriage we boarded. The highlight being the comfy seats which allowed us to doze off in and wake up in the capital only 12 hours later. As soon as we got out of the station we were hit by the hot and muggy ...

Let it never be said that the Chinese don't take their children’s education seriously. In fact they take it way too seriously. With the Chinese University Entrance Exams coming up (like the Chinese SAT’s) emergency measures have been taken to ensure proper studying occurs! In Tina’s apartment building a ...

    Fun times in Beijing

    February 19th, 2010 (4th day in China)

So today was basically an in-between day. By that I mean that the majority of my day was spent traveling from X'ian to Beijing via airplane. Again, the airline served me unlimited drinks (alcohol included) as well as some white rice (go figure) and some tasty chicken. One of the weird things I not...
