... crowds although a down side was that very few restaurants were open. We drove around town looking for somewhere to eat and the only place that we found open was Tim Hortons which is a coffee sandwich place. So Christmas lunch was a bowl of chilli for me and a sandwich for Joe! The boat trip on the river is closed during the winter season and I'm sure we will be back during summer to take that trip.

... where the emergency exits were. That was a first! During the final approach, the plane was moving every which way, and on touchdown, bounced hard. Not sure if it was the weather conditions or a learner pilot.

... Chinese restaurant near our hotel. Had their dinner for two which could have almost fed 4. Won Ton soup, spring rolls, fried rice with shrimp, sizzling beef tenderloins with sauce and shrimp with veggies and cashews Szechuan style - a little spicy but lovely.We have a box of rice and some shrimp to heat up for breakfast.

We have walked many different streets on our tour of Toronto and have seen so many different sights. A great city.

... odd Victorian hotel - in an alcove near my room there was a fireplace and in front of it was a pram containing a fully dressed doll. In addition, the picture shows what was awaiting guests on the landing up the stairs (life size, he was).

August 19th - back to Cheadle Hulme via a drive round the tiny roads of Yorkshire, and a visit to a pub in Addingham that was on the recent Tour de France route. I then went to see Sarah recovering nicely ...

... to us, as was the Putain. We just had a couple of Adidas outlets to hit first, the weather worsened further and our plans changed again. Hungry, we searched for a place to eat and punched in the address for Montana’s. Snoop managed to put us within 100 yards of the restaurant and that was close enough, we settled in for wings, beer and 2 hours of free WI-FI.
