          ... balcony, good air conditioning, plenty of hot water, elevators, heavy towels, a dry bath mat, even shampoo and soap. The pool looks out over the ocean and the cabins down below have their own pool. All I can say is, we really enjoyed our stay here for just $40.00 per night without an ocean view -- an ocean view is more and larger apartments and suites also rent for more.

          After originally thinking that taking a flight instead of a 20 hour bus would be better, our journey from Colombia to the coast of Ecuador was a never-ending odyssey. We flew from Bogotá to Pasto and from there took a taxi to the border then another to the bus station in time for an eight hour journey down to Quito.           This morning I woke up at 6.30 am. The rooster were going cock-a-doodle-dooooo, a cat mjauuuuuu and a dog were barking and on top of it all a kid was crying! Well I get it and yes I am up!!! Sun was shining and warm as hell so off to breakfast and then hit the beach! The water is sooo nice and warm!           ... 2 more tickets on the 23.15 bus, but unfortunately not directly to Atacames, we had to change bus in Esmiralda after 7 hours. From Esmiralda it's another hour to Atacames.           ... is a soupy combination of shrimp or other sea food with veggies and other spices. We also had Dorado a type of hearty fish. I couldn't get enough. Lunch on Monday consisted of rice with calamari and peppers. We also had fried calamari for dinner one night. Everything was so fresh. It is almost like they grab the fish out of the water and cook it right after. It was amazing food and I enjoyed every bite.
