I am ANGRY!!!
So next week and the week after Christmas I'm supposed to be giving speaking tests to all my students. I will test each student one by one and it will be done during lesson time, which is why it will take two weeks. There will be a break for Christmas week so that we can do Christmas themed lessons to teach the students about Christmas traditions (avoiding all mention of whose birthday it is of ...

We ended up going to a few more places, called Lucky Bar (a dive bar that was pretty weird and filled with prostitutes) and Blue Frog. We also met some salesman from New York state, who bought us all a bunch of food and drinks! Sucker!

Dag 55-64 A first visit to Shanghai
... Nike store en sportswinkels. Maar vaak was het shirt niet aanwezig of niet verkrijgbaar in maat M. Na enkele keren Yiu Wah aangemoedigd te hebben dat hij het via de bekende Chinese winkelsite Taobao te bestellen, wat hij uiteindelijk toch niet doet, heeft hij na vele moeite en talloze ondernemingen het shirt nog steeds niet kunnen bemachtigen. Mijn lieve vriend neemt de trein eerder naar Beijing dan ik, hij neemt hierbij de Gao Tie, de hogesnelheidstrein van Shanghai naar Beijing ...
Out and about being a tourist
... are rockeries, trees, bridges, water, pavillions, chambers, sculptures. It was a really lovely (relatively quiet) place to while away a coupe of hours. If it weren't so humid
I'd quite happily return there for a day just wandering around or sitting in the shade with a book … it was so pretty and peaceful.

Arrival
The plane ride took forever but I finally made it here. We really didn't do much today except eat noodles, I attempted at using chop sticks and it is clear I still have to work on that. Besides sleeping and eating nasty plane food not too much happened today. It still seems weird that I'm in China, but tomorrow I think it will really hit me. There will be much more to come.
