... soccer match. It was great fun until the final 30 seconds when the entire bar went into a defining silence. I know the announcers were talking about the goal but I didn't hear a word as the entire place stared in shock at the 2-2 score.

Because we were in bed by 10pm, we were up by 7am. We got up, got dressed and went to go find breakfast. We had breakfast at a dinner called the Pittsfield Cafe. It was really good - tough to find, but really good. It was in the lobby of an old building, called the Pittsfield.

Chicago's weather forecast was for a warm to hot day, with an 80% chance of rain at some stage. With this in mind, we decided to spend the day close to shops - air conditioning and shelter from the rain were our major priorities, the beginning of the long weekend holiday sales was merely coincidental!
