Boarded the flight on time and then for the next 12 and half hours to get back back to Adelaide, arriving at 8pm Friday 27th June.
The best places we visited would be Milan, York and Istanbul. All the other places were also very good, but they were the places we enjoyed the most.
Now to start planning our next holiday…….
... Class for the long leg (Heathrow to Singapore) and a few entertaining movies. He is very tired and very sore, but relieved to be home.
We were met at Adelaide airport by our dear friend and house/furrkid sitter par excellence, Ann.
Annie was very excited and happy to see us, whilst Nuszka did the usual cat thing and ignored us at first. They now both seem to have forgiven us for our prolonged absence.
Our last day in Rio was a short one. We had a stroll along the beach in the morning. On Sundays they close one half of Atlantico Avenue which stretches along Copacabana Beach and the Cariocas (i.e. those born in Rio) all come out to promenade, run, jog, walk their dogs and children etc in the sunshine. It was fun to watch the passing parade.

... appeared they would be coming toward us, but no, they all got swept back out into the sea. The crowd was on the edge of their seats, the group of penguins got bigger and bigger. There was a collective groan every time they went back into the water. But there was safety in numbers and that is why they waited.

... what a happy reunion after 15 years in australia. a catch up from the last 8, two good evenings with wine and sublime food, a wonderful lunch at the seaside (felt like beeing in Amsterdam just warmer), hours of fun and laughter and yes eventually my Christmas present: the kindle. Now that's what I call global longterm friendship in the second generation! It also got me insight into the Ozzy itself. The next weekend I made a four wheel drive trip into the blue mountains with a couch ...
