To The Andaman Sea

A travel blog entry by eden_tild

Yesterday was spent enjoying our last day on Koh Tao while we waited for our taxi to take us to the night boat. The boat departed at 9pm and we were pleasantly surprised when we got on to find 2 rows on beds/pillows! After a pretty reasonable sleep we arrived at Surat Thani, where we would catch the bus to Krabi. By 9am we had arrived - a little …

Early start today and driven by Krabi's only 18 year old (if that) version of 'Michael Schumacher" to Ao-Nang where we met up with our tour guide for the day - 'Gangnam Style' dude! (honestly the spitting image - sun glasses, tight jeans, hairstyle and kitch all the way). Great day! Started at Tup Island and waded across the sand bar and crystal …

Today we woke up at 5 and got our bags packed ready for the taxi to the pier at 6. We boarded the boat and had a 3 hour boat ride to Surrat Thani, stopping at Koh Samui on the way. When we reached Surrat we had a 3 hour coach ride to Krabi town which was fine as the bus was air conditioned and there were no annoying people on it. We reached Krabi …

One night turned into two...

We left Railay and headed to Krabi town. We were only going to stay here for one night then go on to the next destination BUT...we ended up running into a couple Canadians (Leigh and Kaylee-from SK), "Connie" from Ireland, and Harry & his 3 mates from London..

It turned into a party and Terra needed the next day to recover..

Krabi may not have the beaches of some the other seaside towns and islands of south Thailand but it does have arguably even better scenery. Huge Krast limestone formations line the shores and make for some stunning views. The best of these are at Railay which along with a few other destinations in southern Thailand I had really hoped to get to go …

Good little spot, close to the action. They also do cheap trustworthy tours. Visit the bar with the VW Kombi van parked inside it, good vodka slushies!

This place is great for a couple of nights in Krabi Town. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms spotless with nice powerful showers! Right in the centre of everything, just a short walk to the main town. Would definately stay there again if I was to go back to krabi
