... back to their house and pinned the ears back. It was great catching up, John and Sandra are very gracious hosts.

Far too many bottles of wine later it was 1.00am and with no more world issues that needed solving we hit the sack, knowing there was probably going to be a sore head or two the next day.

Anyway, we finally got to our hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our evening in Birmingham.

The next morning saw us returning our hire car and taking the 2.5 hour flight to Malaga. We both loved Spain the last time we visited and made sure that it was back on our list of things to do for this time. Warm weather, paella, friendly Spaniards and more golf courses - what is there not to love?

... In being home to quaint hotels, cottages, the old mill and apparently the most romantic street in England, the Costwalds were surprisngly quiet. Everything about the towns was simply delightful - cats on the stone walls and reeds, pens of sheep, elderly people working in their gardens, craft shops of local artisans, beautiful flowers, vines on the houses and and every single house had their own sign stating the name of their unique cottage. ...

... to Stratford where we'll stay 2 nights. We all appreciated a wind-down stroll late in the day to the river for an ice cream - tourists like us aplenty but not so manic as Oxford. All the girls now sound asleep even though only 9pm - and I won't be far behind. Another busy day planned tomorrow - Warwick Castle , Hidcote (national trust garden) and more of a look around ...
