Getting from London to Amsterdam started with a trip in a ferry across the English Channel. We left from Dover, where there are massive white cliffs and an old castle. The trip across was calm and quick, and we were back in the bus to drive through France, Belgium and Netherlands. The countryside was beautiful. ... busy roads and feeling quite safe in so far as you just need to duck and dive racing cyclists and moped riders. It is quite interesting that moped riders are encouraged onto the cycleways with the cycles and that they neither are required to wear a helmet.

... after breakfast. We spent the day just doing some general very tame sightseeing & shopping with needed rest breaks in between. We were told that Amsterdam is known for good Indonesian food so we booked for a banquet feast & were pleasantly surprised at how good it was!
