The scheduled journey from Mexico City to Palenque took 21 hours alot more than we agreed 8 more hours stuck on the bus trying to understand Spanish film, Jonny English doesn't seem too funny when you don't understand the jokes!! We woke up expecting to be there but was stuck in traffic miles from Palenque. We arrived eventually at 2.30. Walked off the bus and was hit with the hot sticky air, humidity at its finest. Having spoke to a couple of American travellers they gave us some ...

A few of us decided to have a cheese and wine night and it was all so yummy cos didn't have it in ages, all sorts of cheeses and all sorts of wine... at least it kept the cold at bay for a bit... there was a really cool live salsa band in the local disco and it was excellent (Ana and Tessa would appreciate it...) I danced the nite away. Went to Sumidero Canyon the ...

San Cristobal de Las Casas

Stayed in San Cris for a few nights, had a good time, bounced for Palenque. If you go I recommend Revolution, Zirko, Mama Africa, and Tierra Verde for nightlife. Also I found some amazing veggie empanadas at a natural foods store next door to a theater called El Puente or El Fuente (can't remember which one) on Calle Real de ...
