... crab boil. Not a problem for us. Jed has a washer and dryer. By the time we were all cleaned up it was dark and the sky was filled with stars. The weather update on the radio mentioned we were in a location to view the northern lights from a large solar flare a few days earlier. We checked out the sky but with a bright moon we figured no northern lights tonight. It was nice to be back at Jed and out of the chilly ...

... the guru of small joys and writes about things like, when a baby falls asleep on you, seeing a licence plate from home when you are really far away,when someone compliments you about anything, when someone saves you a seat, finding something you lost....

... gear but first we had to get to where the fish were.

We sailed sedately out of the harbour, then a bit faster. Once we had cleared the shore waters, Al suggested we went a bit faster. Well, we were clinging to the seats after a minute or two as the boat shot across the water, leaping over the surface and slamming into the waves. We had eaten breakfast and all went a bit grey at the gills as we were thrown around and splashed.

... and we ended up staying a lot longer than anticipated or we should have.

Since being here I have met so many people I have lost count. I don't think there is a person in Tofino who doesn't know james, even the locals are impressed.

Tofino is breathtakingly beautiful and it's not hard to see why it is so popular. Most people come here to surf. James' crew mostly work the evenings so the morning is spent surfing and time permitting before their shifts ...

... really change, wherever you are! Then off the other end, and a lovely drive across Vancouver Island to Tofino and our home for the next six days. Great little beach house and first jump (paddle!) in the Pacific Ocean. Pretty thankful this evening not to be getting in a car for the next few days. Time to stop, play with the frisbee, build some sandcastles, surf, fly the kite and relax...bring it ...
