... kano's and stophoest! Anyway I digress….

I’m glad we made the trip now and not earlier in the year. There are signs everywhere for snow tyres and even though it was raining for most of the trip we came very close to snow on the mountains. Once you get back down to sea level the tsunami warning signs reappear at regular intervals. I hadn’t appreciated just how much this area in fact, everywhere we’ve been so far, ...

Tues – After a few days of little adventure, we took a ferry over to Bowen Island and walked 3k to the start of the Mount Gardner trail. It was a real hard climb and we got to the first viewpoint and then as it was beginning to get dark walked back down and to the harbour. This little island is only 20 minutes ...

There was one male on his own to one side of the boat, and a mini-pod of about 5 or 6 whales to the other. It was amazing to watch them coming up and diving down, but trying to take pictures was a whole other thing. Combine not having any idea where they ...

... back, into a very strong wind. Welcome to Tofino. So worth it though.. watching the surfers do their thing.. couples young and old, families with kids, others with dogs, some on bicycles which was interesting to watch in the wind.. all there to enjoy the sand and the surf, the beautiful vistas, etc. It surprised me how peaceful it was, even in the wind. After our walk we cleaned up and then started to make our way back to Victoria. Thanks Greg and Tracy for the great weekend! ...
