... circling seaplane gave clues that a whale might be in the vicinity and, sure enough, we soon saw a spray of water as a Grey whale surfaced about 100m away. We watched for about half an hour, trying to predict where it would surface next in the hope that we could swing the camera in its direction quickly enough to get some good shots. We were only partly successful, but at least have some proof that we did indeed see a whale! ...

... eat tomorrow as we are getting take out food for dinner tonight. Maybe later we will play Yahtzee which i learned yesterday and beat Daddy's score.

Tomorrow we hope to go out and see some bears and eat dinner out at Big Daddy's fish fry as it's our last day in Sandpiper House before we head to Windsor Motel which is not the same as a hotel because its on the motorway.

... and we ended up staying a lot longer than anticipated or we should have.

Since being here I have met so many people I have lost count. I don't think there is a person in Tofino who doesn't know james, even the locals are impressed.

Tofino is breathtakingly beautiful and it's not hard to see why it is so popular. Most people come here to surf. James' crew mostly work the evenings so the morning is spent surfing and time permitting before their shifts ...
