Bye bye Greek Islands...back to Athens

A travel blog entry by nicolapollard on Aug 06, 2014

... from the Greek tour will be there and I can go for a day trip down to Pompeii which is the only place in Italy that I still really wanted to see. Boom trip to Rome booked!! Decision made and fight booked at 1am ready to leave the hostel at 7am the next morning to fly at midday. Probably the most spontaneous decision I've ever made (I'm not very adventurous). As we got off the bus we could already hear the music pumping and people dancing at the bar in bikinis. It was ...

That night we went back down to the Main Street for a cheap gyros dinner then went to a shisha bar for a couple of drinks. Us oldies weren't having a big night because we are heading to Mykonos tomorrow so after drinks we went to the sweet shop, got gelato and went back to the hotel for probably our last good sleep of the ...

... with us on our way. It really is the personal touch that makes Amorgos special. The business is family run, the produce is all local and grown themselves in adjoining veggie gardens. They treat you as one of the family while you are there. Leaving our hotel at Lakki village, our speedy driver decides to slow things down on the way to the port with all of us wondering if we will actually make the Flying Cat 4 ...
